Overview Overview

MedCell Bioscience is a UK based biotech company focussed on harnessing the power of stem cells to provide musculoskeletal regenerative therapeutics.

MedCell was formed in September 2002 as a spin-out from the Institute for Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science (IOMS) and the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) to develop technology for the treatment of tendon and ligament injuries using adult stem cells.

In June 2008 MedCell merged with NovaThera to create a company with the breadth of technologies to become a key player in the regenerative medicine market.

NovaThera Ltd was spun out of Imperial College, London, in 2003 and focussed its business around two main propriety platform technologies: NovaPod™ and TheraGlass®.

The clinical application of MedCell’s stem cell therapeutic currently forms a revenue stream for VetCell Bioscience. VetCell is a division of MedCell that provides regenerative therapies to the global animal health market. The Company’s experience in the veterinary sector is facilitating the development of the technology for the human market.

With revenue streams already in place and with exciting products in large therapeutic areas, each with significant unmet medical need, MedCell is well placed as a pioneer within the Regenerative Medicine market.
