Dr David Glover M.A. (Cantab) M.B. B.Chir. M.R.C.P. F.F.P.M. (54)  – Chairman

David specialised in cardiology before joining Merck Sharp and Dohme where he became Director of Medical Affairs. After four years at MS&D and eight years as Medical Director at Schering-Plough he joined the fledgling Cambridge Antibody Technology Ltd (CAT).

As Medical Director/CMO David was pivotal to the development of the company through its floatation towards its eventual acquisition by the AstraZeneca Group.

 

Greg McGarrell CVT Dip.M MBA (31) – Chief Executive Officer

Greg has significant experience of start-ups and management of SME’s within the animal health sector and advises companies and veterinary practices on matters of business development. After running his own veterinary management consultancy, Greg joined a new start-up division of Agenda Multimedia Plc as business development director carrying out skill gap analysis on corporate strategy and designing bespoke solutions for clients including UBS Warburg, Fidelity Investments, American Express, Easy Group (Easy RentaCar) and Centrica. He has an MBA in Project Management and Diploma in Management and is an inventor listed on the first patent filed by the company.  He is a founder member of both the Veterinary Practice Management Association and the Association of Emergency Veterinary Centres.

 

David Mountford MA (Cantab) VetMB MRCVS (38) – Chief Operating Officer 

David is a veterinary surgeon with significant management and consultancy experience within the equine/animal health sector.  He has held successful European, Middle Eastern, and Asian operational directorships; driven strategic planning and operational change management at an international level; and managed teams of up to 180 and operational budgets of £3.5m+.

He is an elected Council member of the British Equine Veterinary Association, a Jockey Club Veterinary Officer, and sits on the UK’s Horse Industry Strategy Steering Committee which works with Government to develop industry-wide policy; and the British Horse Industry Confederation, a small group which represents the combined interests of the racing industry and the general equine/equestrian industry.

 

Jon Dooley MA (Cantab) FCA (58) - Chief Financial Officer

Jon is a qualified Chartered Accountant with wide general management / FD experience. He has been an engineer of growth with companies such as Alfa Romeo (GB) and McDonnell Douglas Information Systems and has a history of international acquisitions, disposals and leading flotation/NASDAQ processes. 

He is Chairman of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and Hon Accountant to the Council for the Prevention of Art Theft.

 

Professor Roger Smith MA, VetMB, PhD, DEO, DipECVS, MRCVS (42) – Chief Scientific Officer

Roger, Professor of Equine Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary College, is a world renowned expert in equine tendons and ligaments.

He divides his time between tendon research, clinical work and VetCell.

 

Professor Stephen May MA, VetMB, PhD, DVR, DEO, MRCVS, DipECVS (49) – Non Executive

Steve is the Vice Principal (Teaching) and the Professor of Equine Medicine and Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College.  He specialises in equine surgery and lameness investigation.  He represents the interests of the Royal Veterinary College.

 

Sir Aubrey Brocklebank Bt ACA (53) – Non-Executive

A chartered accountant, Aubrey specialises in helping companies through change, particularly using his extensive experience in corporate finance and cash flow management.

Aubrey joined the corporate finance department of Guinness Mahon in 1980 where he helped establish the Development Capital Department.  After three years with Venture Founders where he doubled the size of the fund, he moved into consultancy. 

Over the last decade Aubrey has helped over 20 companies deliver financial successes following a period of change and has taken 7 companies to the Stock Market.

 

John Cook FCIS FAAI FIAB (63) – Non-Executive

John has many years experience in the creation and expansion of SMEs and, as a racehorse owner, is familiar with the vagaries of the racing world.
